The term media relations in professional public is understood as regular communication with the media, maintaining a good relationship with journalists who are interested in the issue of the company or public institution. The resulting publicity – neutral, positive or negative in critical situations – is primarily the result of the quality of these relationships. Relations with media are based on the production and provision of information that attracts the attention of relevant media about the topic and consequently the interest of recipients of media content for a company, organization, its products or services. The term media relations in the narrow sense also represents creating good relationships with other subjects involved in media communication (passive or active).

Characteristics of the study program
Students of Applied Media Studies acquire basic knowledge in the interdisciplinary areas of mass media studies, educational sciences and disciplines such as social, human, economic and legal sciences. The result is the knowledge of media in the context of specific situations in the diverse spectrum of educational institutions and outside them. An attractive, creative and socially necessary study programme aims to prepare professionals who are able to mediate careful exploration of media, their possible impact, influences and methods of protection against them. The goal of the study programme is the development of critical thinking competencies, value-based selective and responsible approaches to media and successive application of these competencies in relation to an individual and society.
