The first consortium of Slovak universities U10+ registered

On 22 January 2021, the Ministry of Education, Science, Research and Sports of the Slovak Republic entered in the register of universities a new association of ten Slovak universities called the Consortium of Slovak Universities, abbreviated U10+

This completed the process of establishing the first consortium of universities in Slovakia, which began about two years ago.

The members of the consortium are:
University of Economics in Bratislava
Catholic University in Ružomberok
University of Prešov in Prešov
Technical University in Zvolen
Alexander Dubček University in Trenčín
Trnava University in Trnava
J. Seley University in Komárno
Constantine the Philosopher University in Nitra
Matej Bel University in Banská Bystrica
University of Ss. Cyril and Methodius in Trnava.

The consortium has almost 4,000 creative employees, more than 50,000 students and approximately 60 percent of the funding of Slovak universities and SAS from Horizon 2020. It creates conditions for meeting European standards for improving the quality of education and implementing a wide range of research, human and financial resources, supporting digitization, building infrastructure and strengthening synergies between own capacities. It has an important position as a competitive partner for cooperation with foreign institutions.

Specific cooperation focuses on, for example, the creation of joint study programs, lifelong learning, the conditions for the operation of internal quality assurance systems, the construction of science parks and top teams, the equipment of laboratories, and the implementation of joint scientific projects. The priority interest of the consortium is also comprehensive care for students, their professional and personal development, employment and student life.

This community of universities means an attractive offer for quality applicants for studies at a university to study and live in Slovakia.

The consortium has a strong ambition to become a major opinion authority in formulating strategies and policies to address the most important societal issues at the regional, national and international levels.
