Courtesy visit of diplomats of the Indonesian Embassy to UCM

On January 27th, 2022, members of the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia made a courtesy visit to our university.

Diplomats Franky Silalahi and Widya Christinasari were welcomed on behalf of the rector, prof. Ing. Roman Boča, DrSc., by the vice-rector for external relations doc. Mgr. Ildikó Matušíková, PhD., the dean od the Faculty of Arts prof. Mgr. Katarína Slobodová Nováková, Ph.D. and the vice-dean doc. PaedDr. Monika Hornáček Banášová, Ph.D.

The diplomats and the vice-rector appreciated the activities and cooperation of UCM, especially the Faculty of Arts, with Indonesian universities, which were described in more detail by the dean of the faculty prof. Mgr. Katarína Slobodová Nováková, Ph.D.

Within brief presentation, the vice-rector doc. Matušíková, acquainted the guests with our university, with the offer of study programs, research areas and the overall activities at UCM. They agreed with the guests on the possibilities of cooperation in other areas, including research for protection of agricultural crops and protection of the environment, as well as in the field of social sciences, healthcare and traditional medicine.

The embassy members learned about the possibilities of presenting Indonesian culture at UCM, and received UCM support and promise for specific joint activities, especially in the field of ethnology and Indonesian arts and crafts.

Guests from Indonesia expressed their support for UCM's interest in deepening the existing cooperation with Indonesian universities and promised to help establish a new cooperation, especially after a period affected by the pandemic.
