The UCM (University of Saints Cyril and Methodius) has established cooperation with the National Czech and Slovak Museum and Library in the USA

This collaboration will enable students and doctoral candidates to engage in research and educational activities.

Representatives of the University of Ss. Cyril and Methodius in Trnava, Rector Katarína Slobodová Nováková and Vice-Rector Ladislav Lenovský, have signed a unique cooperation agreement with the National Czech and Slovak Museum and Library in the state of Iowa. The signing ceremony took place in the presence of Jozef Viskupič, the chairman of the Trnava self-governing region, and His Excellency Radovan Javorčík, the ambassador of the Slovak Republic to the USA. The National Museum of Czech and Slovak History and Culture was represented by its President and Executive Director, Cecília Rokusek.

"This collaboration opens up broad opportunities for educators and researchers at our university who are involved in the history of the American continent, Slovak-American and Czech-American relations, museology, linguistics, diaspora media, and the issues of Slovaks and Czechs abroad," stated Katarína Slobodová Nováková, the rector of the University of Ss. Cyril and Methodius in Trnava.

In addition, students and doctoral candidates from the University of Ss. Cyril and Methodius will be able to benefit from scholarships and research stays offered by the museum.

The National Czech and Slovak Museum and Library is a museum, library, and scientific research institution. Since 2019, it has been an affiliate of the Smithsonian Institution, the world's largest museum, educational, and research complex. The University of Saints Cyril and Methodius in Trnava is the first university in Slovakia to establish such a unique cooperation.
