In 2023, up to 27 FZV students traveled for a study stay

The Faculty of Health Sciences is actively involved in international activities. They include participation in the Erasmus+ program and cooperation with several European universities.

We like to gain experience abroad
 
Physiotherapy and radiology students must complete summer internships in European hospitals and rehabilitation centers during their studies. FZV graduates also like to use the possibility of a graduate internship. They are helped by the Erasmus+ or WorkSpace Europe schemes, while last year Erasmus students most often visited Spain and Italy. In addition, they also like to go to the following facilities in the Czech Republic:

  • AquaKlim, s.r.o., Sanatoria Klimkovice, Klimkovice-Hýlov
  • General Faculty Hospital in Prague, Prague
  • Faculty Hospital Bulovka, Prague
  • Faculty Hospital Hradec Králové, Hradec Králové

In July, Mgr. Jana Koišová, PhD., at the Bulovka Faculty Hospital in Prague. During the meetings with colleagues from the hospital, the subject of discussion was mainly the organizational requirements of the mobility of students and graduates of the FZV of both study programs - physiotherapy and radiological technology and the possibilities of project cooperation.

At the end of June, associate professor Caglar Soylu from the University of Health Sciences in Istanbul visited the UCM, who participated in practical demonstrations of sports physiotherapy, saw the Spa Island in Piešťany and also the Staré mesto Hospital in Bratislava.

In September, we had the pleasure of a visit from Mount Kenya University (Dr. Serah Wairimu, Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences, Dr. Wambui Judy Mwangi, Lecturer in the Department of Social and Development Studies and BSc. Bonface Joel Malala, Head of the University's Economics and Grants Department) and we took the first steps towards further cooperation. 

In October, representatives of the Apollonia University of Iasi in Romania and the University of Health Sciences in Istanbul visited FZV as part of the Summer School. They exchanged a lot of knowledge and experience in the field of medicine with their Slovak colleagues. Learn more in this article.
 
The end of October was the meeting of Vice-Dean for External Relations Jana Koišová with the Indian Ambassador H.E. Ms. Apoorva Srivastava. Together, they discussed the possibilities of cooperation between FZV UCM and Indian academic institutions, as well as possible cooperation within the Erasmus+ project aimed at mobility outside the EU.


 
The November Week of Science and Technology was enriched by the performances of scientists and educators from the Polish Casimir Pulaski Radom University. The block of lectures was started by Dr. Mariola Mendrycka, PhD., who presented the topic Comprehensive cardiac rehabilitation. She was followed by Dr. Renata Orawiec, who spoke on Kinesio taping in physiotherapy. On Wednesday, Dr. was the last to present her block of lectures. Dorota Trybusińska on the topic Current challenges in caring for the elderly. Dr. also joined the program as part of pedagogical mobility. h. c. MUDr. Leoš Navrátil, CSc., MBA, from the Faculty of Biomedical Engineering of the Czech Technical University in Prague. In his presentation, he addressed the topics of internal propaedeutics in physiotherapy, telerehabilitation and device technology in physiotherapy.

In November, the bag was torn with foreign guests, as the International Staff Week was also held at the UCM. Among a total of 22 participants from 5 countries (Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, Croatia, Lithuania), colleagues from partner universities also visited the Faculty of Health Sciences of UCM. The guests learned everything about FZV and had the opportunity to see the city of Piešťany. International Staff Week continued the next week with a virtual part. On Wednesday, November 22, 2023 Mgr. Jana Koišová, PhD., presented an online lecture on Ethics of Artificial Intelligence in Medicine.
