UCM in the world: Colleagues from the Faculty of Mass Media Communication are at the University of Kuala Lumpur

Educators and PhD students from the Department of Digital Games are currently located at Asia Pacific University (APU). It is the best private university in Malaysia.

The team consisting of Michal Kabát, Juraj Kovalčík, Martin Schwarz and Bianka Francisty managed to establish cooperation mainly in the field of gaming and digital games, as this is also an area that APU is dedicated to.
We were on a tour of the best private university in Malaysia. Asia Pacific University focuses, among other things, on the study of digital games. In addition to interesting lectures and interviews, we established contacts and potential future collaborations, which mainly concern gaming activities. "We exchanged know-how with their e-sports organization and agreed on joint matches. They have different conditions and play completely different games, so it could be interesting," says Michal Kabát.

Similarly, they intend to organize a joint game jam. "There are really nice people at the gaming department. They showed us the VR lab and all the spaces, so we have somewhere to be inspired. In addition, we also presented them with our activities at the FMK and also information about Slovakia and the European region where we come from," adds Kabát.

Colleagues also had the opportunity to get to know a new culture. "It is a country that contains elements of many religions and cultures. It is a land of contrasts that, at least in my opinion, is worth visiting. Either as a tourist or, if we succeed, as a student through cooperation. It really offers many opportunities here," describes doctoral student Bianka Francistyová.
