SOCIAL IMPACT OF UCM RESEARCH

The University of St. Cyril and Methodius combines research with practice and contributes to sustainable development goals. In the natural sciences, it innovates the processing of traditional crops, promotes biodiversity and healthier foods, addresses nuclear energy safety and cyber protection of IoT networks.

The humanities and social sciences strengthen cultural memory, develop bioethical frameworks for new technologies, and promote critical thinking. Pedagogy brings innovative educational tools, psychology brings tools for the prevention of risky behavior, mass media sciences promote media literacy and community media, political science promotes participatory politics, social work promotes risk prevention among young people, and health sciences promote new standards of rehabilitation. The common denominator is measurable social impact, interdisciplinarity, and partnerships with practitioners at home and abroad.
