2.1 An application is considered valid if the distance between the student’s permanent residence and the school’s location exceeds 90 km. If the distance is shorter, the travel time from the place of permanent residence to the faculty or institute’s location is taken into account.
2.2 The faculty and institute housing committees will rank student applications on a waiting list, compiled based on the assigned number of points in descending order according to Section 3. The housing committee will assign housing depending on the number of spots available for student accommodation.
2.3
Points for the allocation of accommodation in UCM dormitories and UCM’s contracted accommodation facilities are automatically assigned to upper-year students by the information system based on the following criteria:
a) the student’s academic performance
The weighted grade point average for the academic year is calculated by summing the products of the course credit value and the numerical grade for all courses enrolled in by the student during the evaluation period, and dividing this sum by the total credits earned for that period. Courses graded with an FX or courses that the student enrolled in but did not complete are also included in the GPA with a grade of 4.
THE STUDENT RECEIVES POINTS IN THE RANGE OF 20 TO 0 FOR ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE BASED ON THE WEIGHTED GRADE POINT AVERAGE (WGPA), WHICH IS IN THE RANGE OF 1.0 TO 3.0. POINT ALLOCATION FORMULA = (30 - 10 * GPA).
For students advancing to the second year of study who have not completed the first-year summer semester, only the results from the winter semester will be counted.
For students continuing into their third year of study, results for the entire second year of study will be counted.
b) The distance from the student’s permanent residence to the UCM campus is automatically assigned by the information system (vzdialenosti.sk)
THE STUDENT RECEIVES POINTS IN THE RANGE OF 0 TO 30 FOR A DISTANCE (VZD) IN KILOMETERS THAT EXCEEDS 90 KM. POINT ALLOCATION FORMULA = (VZD * 0.1 - 9).
c) The school’s travel time is assigned automatically by the information system (vzdialenosti.sk)
THE STUDENT RECEIVES POINTS IN THE RANGE OF 0 TO 15 FOR TIME ACCESSIBILITY (TA) IN MINUTES, WHICH IS MORE THAN 44 MINUTES. POINT ALLOCATION FUNCTION = (TA*0.2 - 8.8).
d) Social circumstances
Students in adverse social circumstances who receive a social scholarship will be awarded 30 points.
e) Health status
Students who demonstrate an adverse health condition with relevant documentation will be assessed separately.
f) Cultural and social activities
For cultural and sports activities within the university, as well as work in the UCM Academic Senate, UCM Student Council, and UCM Student Union, students may receive up to 5 points upon approval by the Vice Rector for Education in the case of IM UCM students, and by the Vice Deans for Educational Activities in the case of students from individual faculties.
