Jana Galera Matúšová habilitated at the Faculty of Mass Media Communication at the University of Ss. Cyril and Methodius (UCM) in Trnava and the topic of her habilitation thesis was Communication strategies of selected brands in different phases of their life cycle. She received academic degree PhDr. at the Faculty of Mass Media Communication (FMK) at the University of Ss. Cyril and Methodius in Trnava in the field of Mass Media Studies, academic degree Mgr. at the Faculty of Art, Comenius University in Bratislava in the field of Journalism and academic degree PhD. at Faculty of Art, Comenius University in the field of Theory and History of Journalism as well. She was a member of the project team Implementation of new forms of education for the Faculty of Mass Media Communication UCM in Trnava, later member of the project team of the project Implementation of innovative models of evaluation, monitoring and quality assurance in the conditions of FMK UCM in Trnava. She participated as editor of the papers Future of the Media: Future of Social Media: Philology: Language of Contemporary Journalism: Political Communication. She participated in the activities of editorial boards of the PR professional journal PR LIFE published by the PR Club in the Czech Republic and of the Polish magazine Preferencje Polityczne, which publishes Centrum Innowacji, Transferu, Technologii I Rozwoju Fundacia Uniwersytetu Šlaskiego oraz Instytut Nauk Politycznych i Dziennikarstwa Uniwersytetu Slaskiego. She worked also at VŠFS in Prague as an external teacher and was teaching subjects Psychology of Customer Behavior and Advertising. As a member of the PR Club in the Czech Republic she was a mentor within two years of the mentoring program for beginning PR professionals. Jana Galera Matúšová won 1st place in the media competition Picture of Women in the Media, organized by the Department for International Development, The World Bank, the National Center for Gender Equality and the Center for Independent Journalism.
