Signing of the founding agreement and statutes of the CONSORTIUM of Slovak universities U10+

Today, the rectors of ten universities associated in the Consortium of Slovak Universities U10+ met in a special facility of the Technical University in Zvolen in compliance with all epidemiological measures. On this occasion, they signed the founding agreement as well as the statutes of the consortium of universities.

The consortium was founded by ten universities, with the potential to expand and is open to other members. U10+ creates conditions for the integration of educational and scientific research infrastructure, intellectual capacity of almost 4,000 creative employees and more than 50,000 students. The project teams of these universities currently represent a dominant, almost 60 percent share in the financing of Slovak universities and SAS (Slovak Academy of Science) from Horizon 2020 funds.

  • University of Ss. Cyril and Methodius in Trnava
  • The seat of the consortium is the Technical University in Zvolen

The purpose of the consortium is a joint approach to creating and expanding the range of study programs, joint implementation of research, development or other creative activities, joint improvement of conditions for students in the areas of catering, accommodation, cultural, social life and sports. By signing the agreement, the signatories undertook to concentrate and develop creative capacities to improve the national and international position of member universities, to ensure and increase the quality of education, science, research and arts, to obtain and effectively use human and financial resources, to build a common education module within Erasmus+, to create a joint research park of centers of scientific excellence, to fulfill the social role of universities, as well as to actively cooperate with other associations of universities and other entities that support educational and scientific activities in Slovakia and abroad.

The consortium acquires legal capacity by registration in the register of university consortia, which is part of the register of universities.
