Focus on physiotherapy and radiologic technology thanks to state-of-the-art equipment in close contact with practice.

The equipment, technology, and practical teaching will prepare future healthcare professionals for the reality as best as possible. They will help them gain practical knowledge during their studies and therefore a wide range of applications.

One of the devices at the Faculty of Health Sciences of the University of Saints Cyril and Methodius in Trnava (FZV) is Anatomage. As the name suggests, it is mainly used for teaching anatomy. This life-size virtual dissection table has the most advanced 3D human body imaging system. Students can visualize anatomy exactly as it would be in real life and see exactly the same as what they could only observe in the dissecting room so far. The device improves education not only in anatomy but also in histology, physiology, and radiology.

Modern equipment that graduates will encounter in practice is also present in the physiotherapy classroom. For example, the Biodex Balance system is a simple and effective device for testing and practicing balance. Similarly, the Alfa device also functions as a training tool, especially for neurological and orthopedic patients, such as those with muscle dysfunction, Parkinson's disease, or hip or knee dislocation.

The Spinal Mouse is also used in the teaching process. This technology, comparable to an X-ray, can measure spinal curvature with a computer. In several physiotherapeutic procedures, students can try the Redcord system, which falls under the methodology of exercise in suspension. It serves not only for diagnosis and active therapy, but can also be used in training.

The Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of St. Cyril and Methodius in Trnava (FZV) provides its students with top-notch equipment and practical training in close collaboration with healthcare and rehabilitation facilities, as well as spa resorts, both in Slovakia and abroad. Examples of such equipment include the Biodex Balance system, used for testing and training balance, and the Alfa device, which is designed for training neurologically and orthopedically impaired patients, such as those who have suffered a stroke, muscle dysfunction, Parkinson's disease, or hip and knee dislocation.

Furthermore, students have access to the Spinal Mouse, a technology comparable to X-rays that is used to measure spinal curvature using a computer, and the Redcord system, which is part of the suspension exercise training methodology and is used not only for diagnosis and active therapy but also for training.

Accredited study programs offered by the faculty include Bachelor's degrees in Physiotherapy and Radiological Technology, as well as a Master's degree in Physiotherapy. The application deadline for the upcoming academic year is April 30, 2023.

Through collaborations with partner institutions in Slovakia, as well as in the Czech Republic, Poland, Italy, and Croatia, students can gain practical experience in healthcare facilities across the European Union via the Erasmus+ program. All necessary information regarding the study programs and admission procedures can be found on the faculty's website.
