The Faculty of Social Sciences at UCM in Trnava, in collaboration with the Trnava Self-Governing Region and with the support of the Slovak Innovation and Energy Agency, organized the Olympiad on Regional Self-Government.

This is the only unique event of its kind in Slovakia. Its goal is to raise awareness among high school students about the functioning of public administration in Slovakia, with a focus on the regional level, and to increase awareness of the contributions of self-governing regions to society.

Twenty teams composed of high school students from the Trnava region registered for the competition. The final round of the Olympiad took place on June 6th, 2023, in the Auditorium of the Faculty of Social Sciences at UCM in Trnava.

The participants went through two final rounds.

The following high schools placed in the top three positions:

1. Gymnázium Angely Merici Trnava
2. Gymnázium F.V. Sasinka Skalica
3.  Gymnázium Janka Matúšku in Galanta
