Visit from Mount Kenya University

Visit from Mount Kenya University

The Rector of UCM, Prof. Mgr. Katarína Slobodová Nováková, PhD., welcomed a delegation from Mount Kenya University to the university. They visited UCM as part of the Erasmus KA 171 project.

The delegation included Serah Wairimu, the Dean of the School of Social Sciences; Judy Mwangi, a lecturer in Social and Development Studies, the coordinator for postgraduate students, and the head of the Study Department; and Joel Malala, the head of the university's Economics Department and Grants Department.

During the meeting, they discussed the possibilities of collaboration between the two universities, student exchanges, joint research projects, and outcomes. Colleagues were interested in the potential for joint study programs and the enhancement of cooperation between specific faculties.

Mount Kenya University is the second university in Africa with which UCM has shared projects and activities. The Erasmus KA 171 project is being implemented at the Department of Ethnology and Non-European Studies, Faculty of Arts of UCM.

We hope that this collaboration will expand to other faculties at our university, in addition to the Faculty of Arts.
