UCM and Lifestarter join forces to promote lifelong learning in Trnava

On Tuesday, 24 June 2025, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed at the University, formalizing existing activities and opening the way for new initiatives. The aim of the cooperation is to support the development of education in Little Rome and the Trnava Region in a long-term and systematic way. Both parties declare a common interest in building a learning city, linking educational institutions and promoting lifelong learning for all ages. The Memorandum was signed on behalf of the Lifestarter civic association by Mgr. Michal Koricina, PhD, Executive Manager, Lecturer and Statutory Representative, and for the University. Mgr. Mgr. A shared vision for the development of the region

Lifestarter in Trnava is dedicated to promoting non-formal education, volunteering and organizing various events such as seminars, workshops and conferences. UCM plays an important role in the development of education based on scientific knowledge and creative activity. By joining forces, both institutions want to contribute to the professional and personal growth of the region's inhabitants.

The main areas of cooperation include:

  • improving the quality of education and creating a learning city,

  • participation in projects such as the Children's University, the Teachers' School and the Academy for the Elderly,

  • scientific research activities and their popularisation,

  • support for lifelong learning and cooperation with local government and other partners.

 

Commitments of partners

Lifestarter is committed to promoting UCM's educational activities, enabling the university to present at the "Learning Trnava" festival and supporting networking between educational organisations.

In turn, UCM will participate in the development of the Learning City strategies, contribute to the organisation of festivals and initiatives, and support work with children and youth in Trnava.
