Andrea Grominová from the Faculty of Arts became a professor in the field of foreign languages and cultures
The President of the Slovak Republic Peter Pellegrini has appointed Assoc. PhDr. Andrea Grominova, PhD., who is working at the Department of Russian Studies.
The appointment of Professor Grominova is a significant recognition of her long-term pedagogical and scientific activities in the field of Russian Studies and at the same time strengthens the professional profile of the Faculty of Arts of the UCM in Trnava.
In her teaching practice, Professor Andrea Grominová is engaged in a wide range of disciplines - from practical language teaching, through translation and interpreting subjects to literary and literary-historical fields. Her work has long been focused on the development of professional competences of Russian studies students and the preparation of qualified professionals for pedagogical and translation practice.


She is also actively involved in the activities of professional Russian studies organizations, where she contributes to research on Russian language, literature and culture. Her appointment as a professor is a natural outcome of her professional, scientific and pedagogical career. Her appointment as a professor has only confirmed her expertise, her extensive publishing activity and her contribution to the development of the field of study of foreign languages and cultures.

Special thanks go to my dear parents, who have stood by me and shown their endless support since I was a little girl," said Professor Grominová on the social network.
The ceremonial act of appointment took place in the Presidential Palace in Bratislava, when the President of the Slovak Republic handed over decrees to a total of 30 new professors from various scientific disciplines. In his speech, Pellegrini stressed that the title of professor represents not only a personal recognition of many years of work, but also a commitment to contribute to the development of education, science and the whole society. At the same time, he highlighted their common mission - to contribute to the development of talents and the cultivation of public space.
