HRS4R Principles

The Human Resources Strategy for Researchers (HRS4R) is a tool for aligning human resources management with the twenty principles of the European Charter for Researchers as a set of general principles and conditions that defines the roles, obligations and rights of researchers, employers and research funding organizations, in order to ensure open, transparent and merit-based recruitment of researchers.

The European Commission recognizes the alignment of human resources strategies with the principles of the Charter by awarding the HR Excellence in Research Award, which increases the attractiveness of institutions as employers and potential project partners in international consortia within the European Research Area.

The University of St. Cyril and Methodius in Trnava has officially committed to the principles of the European Charter for Researchers. With this step, it reaffirms its commitment to creating a high-quality, transparent, and ethically responsible environment for research and academic work.

In line with this commitment, the university is actively applying for the prestigious HR Excellence in Research Award, granted by the European Commission. This process involves a systematic analysis of existing conditions for researchers and the implementation of specific measures aimed at improving them.

The initiative aims to strengthen:

  • the quality of the research environment,
  • the transparency and openness of selection procedures,
  • the professional development of researchers,
  • equal opportunities and inclusion.

By participating in this process, UCM reaffirms its ambition to rank among modern and internationally competitive research institutions that emphasize excellence, integrity, and support for their employees.
