The Slovak Association for Quality of Higher Education met at UCM
On 23.4.2026 a working meeting of individual and collective members of the Slovak Association for Quality in Higher Education (SAKVA) took place at the University of St. Cyril and Methodius in Trnava. 15 Slovak universities were represented at this working meeting. The organisation of the meeting was provided on site by our university.
The main aim of the meeting was practical teaching according to § 75 of the new Higher Education Act. As it was said in the introductory presentation, practical teaching and its registration in the study document, which is the practice record book, can fundamentally increase the employability of graduates on the labour market. Although the previous Higher Education Act was aware of the clinical practice record book, it was mainly related to the health professions.
The current version extends its issuance to all fields of study, since every second cycle study programme (SP) and study programme combining first and second cycle also includes practical training, if this is implied by the learning outcomes of the study programme.
The working meeting was beneficial and inspiring for the representatives of universities to clearly and comprehensibly apply the practical teaching in the wording of the new Higher Education Act to the teaching practice and quality assurance processes of higher education.
