The University of St. Cyril and Methodius in Trnava and the University of Trnava received accreditation for joint professionally oriented study programmes
The Rectors of the University of St. Cyril and Methodius (UCM) and the University of Trnava (TRUNI) today officially signed the documents for the granting of internal accreditation for the new, joint professionally oriented study programmes Ecosystem Sciences and Environmental Change, Psychology of Advertising and Consumer and Tourist Guide.
The study programmes were created as part of a consortium of the two Trnava universities, which joined the project of the Ministry of Education, Research, Development and Youth of the Slovak Republic to support the strategic development of university infrastructure. These are professionally oriented study programmes in both full-time and part-time form of study with a standard length of 3 years, which are intended to prepare graduates for practice.
"These programmes combine the best of both universities - modern approaches, interdisciplinarity, experts from different fields and the background of two established academic institutions. As a result, the study programmes transcend the traditional boundaries of disciplines, reflect the current needs of society and open the door to a wide range of career opportunities for graduates - both at home and abroad," said the Rector of UCM in Trnava prof. Katarína Slobodová Nováková.

The first students will be admitted from the academic year 2026/2027. Teaching will take place at both universities, with individual faculties cooperating.
"The creation of new programmes is proof that the cooperation between the two universities in Trnava has a real potential to change the academic space. We are preparing students not only for today's job market, but also for a world that is changing rapidly - with an emphasis on practical skills, critical thinking and high professionalism. I am delighted that together we can offer studies that have the ambition to move the region and Slovakia forward," said TRUNI Rector prof. Miloš Lichner.
