UCM Rector's Office will move to a new address on Kollárova Street

Published: on 30.1.2026

The UCM administration will soon have new, decent premises in the building of the former steam baths. All rectorate departments as well as the bursar's office will have their headquarters there.

With the creation of this administrative centre, the University is responding to a long-standing infrastructural debt and is systematically catching up. The vacated premises in the building on Bučianska Street will be used for the development of the University Support Centres and the Faculty of Social Sciences, while the offices on Náměstí Jozef Herda will be used by the Faculty of Mass Media Communication. In addition, the Herda Square will be maintained, but modernised, for the Study Department and the Study Agenda.

The original swimming pool, a dominant feature of the historic building from the times of the First Republic, will be preserved and given a new function - a representative university conference centre will be created here, offering meeting rooms for the university senate, the board of trustees, the scientific council, as well as other academic and ceremonial assemblies.

The building will also include a state-of-the-art welcome centre for international visitors and university partners, as well as facilities for staff to hold training sessions, business meetings, celebrations and informal get-togethers. At the same time, the university will also acquire 20 parking spaces in the immediate vicinity of the building.

As the building is privately owned and the university decided not to use loan financing, the solution was a long-term lease. This allowed UCM to design the entire interior exactly according to its own needs. Ing. arch. Katarína Viskupičová, who has been cooperating with the university for a long time and is able to sensitively link the academic environment with a functional and elegant architectural solution. Her handwriting is noticeable on several buildings of UCM, as well as in the city of Trnava and its surroundings.

The move into the new office space is scheduled to begin in late 2026 and early 2027.
