UCM Faculty of Arts strengthens cooperation in Latin America
Associate Professor Mariana Sirotova and Dr. Veronika Michvocíková from the Department of Education traveled to Colombia at the end of March (March 20-31, 2026). Within the Erasmus+ programme, they took part in a working mobility at the partner university Universidad del Rosario in Bogotá.
The aim was clear, namely to gain new experience and inspiration, especially in the field of inclusive education and modern approaches in higher education. But alongside this, it was also about something equally important: to meet colleagues from abroad, to share experiences and to take the cooperation between universities one step further.
During their stay, they participated in lectures, workshops and expert discussions. Topics covered included inclusion, student participation and promoting diversity in universities. One of the discussions was led by María Alejandra Correa, Director of the International Department.
There were also working meetings with academics and researchers from the Escuela de Administración. These opened the door to new opportunities for collaboration, both in research and in joint projects. Another important moment was the meeting with Dean Mauricio Sanabria, which helped to consolidate the existing partnership.
"This mobility has given us a lot of new impulses and experiences that we can transfer to teaching. At the same time, we have managed to strengthen our cooperation with the partner university," said Associate Professor Sirotová.
The cooperation does not end with the return home, but also continues online, for example in the exchange of materials or the preparation of other activities.
