UCM has been supporting the HIT UCM women’s volleyball team for 12 years

This support takes several forms: UCM provides players with housing, financial assistance, and other support, and UCM students who play on the team are also eligible for scholarships.

For the university, supporting sports is a natural part of creating opportunities for female students who wish to combine a quality education with an active athletic career. At the same time, HIT UCM helps connect the university with Trnava and its sports community.

HIT UCM Celebrated Its 25th Anniversary

This year, the volleyball club marked a significant milestone: 25 years since its founding. The club was founded on June 21, 2001, and celebrated a quarter-century of activity with a festive gala evening that brought together the founders, players, coaches, fans, and others associated with the club.

The celebrations also included an award presented to the University of St. Cyril and Methodius for its long-standing support of volleyball. It is a symbolic expression of a partnership that has lasted 12 years, during which UCM has helped create the conditions necessary for the team’s operation and the development of young female athletes.

A sports club with a strong youth base

HIT UCM currently competes in the Nike Women’s Extraliga, and among its notable athletic achievements is a bronze medal from the 2022–2023 season.

However, the women’s Extraliga team is not the only important part of the club’s operations. HIT UCM is one of the largest youth volleyball clubs in Slovakia and has a membership base of more than 200 players. The club also organizes major sporting events, including the Slovak Beach Volleyball Championships and the Nike Summer Beach Tour.
