UCM Has Received New Accreditations for Habilitation and Inauguration Proceedings

The University of St. Cyril and Methodius in Trnava has achieved a significant milestone in the development of its scientific and research activities. The Executive Board of the Slovak Accreditation Agency for Higher Education (SAAVŠ) has granted UCM accreditation for habilitation and inauguration proceedings in several fields across the university’s four faculties.

The decisions of the SAAVŠ Executive Board confirm that the university meets the requirements for conducting habilitation and inauguration proceedings and, at the same time, represent an important prerequisite for the further development of the university’s scientific, research, and human resources potential.

Based on the resolutions of the SAAVŠ Executive Board, UCM has received accreditation in the following fields:

UCM Faculty of Natural Sciences

  • Biotechnology – habilitation procedure,
  • Biotechnology – inaugural procedure,
  • Chemistry – habilitation procedure,
  • Molecular Biology – habilitation procedure,
  • Molecular Biology – Inauguration Procedure.

Faculty of Arts, UCM

  • Foreign Languages and Cultures – habilitation procedure,
  • Foreign Languages and Cultures – inaugural proceedings.

Faculty of Mass Media Communication, UCM

  • Mass Media Studies – habilitation proceedings,
  • Mass Media Studies – inaugural proceedings.

Faculty of Social Sciences, UCM

  • Public Policy and Public Administration – habilitation proceedings.

UCM has thus received a total of ten accreditations for habilitation and inauguration proceedings, including six for habilitation and four for inauguration.

The granting of these accreditations confirms the professional and scientific standards of UCM’s departments, the quality of their creative work, and the staffing levels of individual disciplines. It also enables the university to further develop its academic environment and create conditions for the career growth of faculty members and researchers.

The decisions were adopted by the Executive Board of the SAAVŠ pursuant to Section 31(6) of Act No. 269/2018 Coll. on Quality Assurance in Higher Education.

Obtaining ten accreditations represents a significant achievement for UCM and its faculties and strengthens the university’s standing in the fields of science, research, and academic career advancement.
