The University of St. Cyril and Methodius in Trnava confirms that research with a global impact can emerge from a regional academic environment. Scientists associated with UCM regularly appear in the prestigious international ranking "World's Top 2% Scientists", which is compiled on the basis of data from the Scopus database by a team from Stanford University in collaboration with Elsevier. The ranking is based on a combination of indicators such as citation counts, h-index, hm-index and authorship to publication ratio, providing a comprehensive picture of the scientific impact of researchers.

Among the 2% of the most cited scientists in the world, personalities working at UCM repeatedly appear in these evaluations, in particular Prof. Ing. Štefan Janeček, DrSc. Ing. Stanislav Miertuš, DrSc. from the Institute of Biology and Biotechnology of the UCM Faculty of Science, whose research has achieved significant citation acclaim in the global scientific space, especially in the context of career-long evaluations.

At the same time, other prominent personalities also contribute to the scientific reputation of the University. Prof. Ing. Roman Boča, DrSc., working at the Faculty of Health Sciences of UCM, is one of the most prominent Slovak chemists with a long-standing high citation record and significant international recognition, which is reflected especially in his career-long profile. Prof. RNDr. Jana Sedláková-Kaduková, PhD, an expert in the field of environmental sciences, has contributed significantly to the development of the University's research activities and its international visibility reflected in the 2025 single-year assessment.

The Scientometric ranking of the World's Top 2% Scientists thus captures not only current performance but also the long-term contribution of scientists in a global context. The presence of all four personalities in this broader scientific profile of UCM confirms that the University is systematically building a high-quality research base and strengthening its position among respected scientific institutions.
