UCM will kick off the new academic year with a ceremonial inauguration of the rector

The ceremonial opening of the 2026–2027 academic year will take place on October 5, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. in the Jozef Matúš Auditorium.

The event will serve as an opportunity for the symbolic opening of the new academic year and, at the same time, for the ceremonial induction of the university leadership into their academic roles. The program will begin with the ceremonial inauguration of Rector Assoc. Prof. RNDr. Iveta Dirgová Luptáková, Ph.D., and the vice rectors, followed by the rector’s address.

The program will also include a report by the Chair of the UCM Academic Senate on its activities, speeches by guests, and the presentation of awards. The Rector will present the Ján Sambucus Plaques not only to prominent figures in the fields of educationand scientific research fields at the University of St. Cyril and Methodius in Trnava, but also to distinguished figures who visit our university on various occasions. The ceremony thus combines a significant moment for the university’s leadership with the opening of another academic year, which will bring new challenges, opportunities, and activities for the UCM academic community.
