Practical training is primarily provided through collaboration with leading healthcare, rehabilitation, and spa facilities both in Slovakia and abroad, such as the Slovak Health Spa in Piešťany, the National Institute of Rheumatic Diseases in Piešťany, the National Rehabilitation Center in Kováčová, the University Hospital in Bratislava, the Faculty Hospital in Trnava, and the St. Elizabeth Cancer Institute.

Through the Erasmus+ program, students and graduates alike can gain practical experience at healthcare facilities throughout the European Union. The Faculty of Health Sciences has the most international partnerships in the Czech Republic, Poland, Italy, and Croatia.

Students can also try out unique devices right on campus. One of the devices at the Faculty of Health Sciences of the University of St. Cyril and Methodius in Trnava (FZV) is the Anatomage. As the name suggests, it is primarily used for teaching anatomy. This life-size virtual dissection table features the most advanced 3D imaging system of the human body.

Students can visualize anatomy exactly as it would be in reality and see exactly what they could previously observe only in an actual dissection room. The equipment enhances education not only in anatomy but also in histology, physiology, and radiology.

Modern equipment, which graduates will also encounter in their professional practice, is also available in the physical therapy classroom. For example, the Biodex Balance System is a simple and effective device for testing and training balance. The Alfa device functions similarly and is designed specifically for training neurological and orthopedic patients—such as those who have suffered a stroke, a hip or knee dislocation, or who suffer from muscle dysfunction or Parkinson’s disease.

The Spinal Mouse is also an integral part of the teaching process. This technology, comparable to an X-ray, uses a computer to measure spinal curvature. For several physical therapy procedures, students can try out the Redcord system, which is part of the suspension training methodology. It is used not only for diagnosis and active therapy but can also be utilized in the training process.
