The Department of Lifelong Learning is primarily responsible for the following:
- prepares, coordinates, and provides administrative support for lifelong learning programs at UCM;
- coordinates the development, approval, implementation, and evaluation of educational programs leading to the award of micro-certificates;
- manages the record-keeping, registration, issuance, and archiving of micro-certificates and other documents certifying completion of training;
- monitors the needs of the labor market, professional practice, and other target groups in the field of continuing education and proposes new educational programs;
- coordinates cooperation with faculties (institutes) and other UCM departments in the development and implementation of lifelong learning programs;
- manages the operations of the University of the Third Age, including its organizational, personnel, administrative, and promotional needs;
- prepares and implements educational programs, lectures, courses, and other activities designed for seniors;
- manages the operations of the Children’s University and other outreach and educational activities for children and youth;
- supports the development of talent, creativity, critical thinking, and an interest in science, research, and higher education among children and young people;
- provides educational, counseling, and development activities aimed at supporting the academic success, personal development, and career prospects of students and graduates;
- coordinates and supports the training of UCM staff in the areas of pedagogical, digital, language, managerial, and other professional competencies;
- organizes professional courses, certification programs, summer schools, academies, retraining, and other educational activities for the public;
- develops cooperation with public institutions, employers, professional associations, and other partners in the field of lifelong learning;
- prepares, coordinates, and implements national and international projects in the field of lifelong learning, inclusion, and competency development;
- promotes and presents lifelong learning activities at UCM;
- maintains records of participants in educational programs and compiles data for statistical, analytical, and evaluation purposes;
- monitors legislation and strategic documents in the field of lifelong learning, inclusion, and the recognition of non-formal learning outcomes;
- participates in the development of internal regulations, methodological guidelines, and conceptual materials in the field of lifelong learning;
- coordinates UCM activities aimed at fulfilling the principles of an open university and promoting lifelong learning;
- performs other related tasks and activities.
