BUP Mobility Grant

We would like to bring to your attention an exciting funding opportunity for young researchers within the Baltic University Programme (BUP).

The BUP Mobility Grant aims to develop and strengthen cooperation among young researchers in the Baltic Sea Region by supporting research-related travel and accommodation. The maximum grant amount is €3,000.

This grant is designed for early-career researchers who have completed their PhD within the past five years and are conducting research related to sustainable development.

Funding can be used for:

• new research projects (fully or partially), or
• as a contribution to ongoing research activities

The mobility must take place at a university in another country within the Baltic Sea Region, promoting international academic cooperation.

The grant covers travel and accommodation expenses, which are administered by the BUP Coordinating Secretariat in Uppsala.

Eligibility & Requirements:

• Open to applicants from all academic disciplines
• Research must relate to sustainable development (environmental, social, or economic aspects) and the Baltic Sea region
• Minimum stay: 1 month
• Application must include:
  • Project description
  • Invitation letter from host university
  • CV (max. 2 pages)

📅 Project period: September 2026 – February 2027
📢 Results will be announced in early June 2026.
