Invitation to a lecture from the series I Want to Know More: Data & Risk Management for Doctoral Students: A Quick Start to Open Science

We invite you to a lecture by doc. PhDr. Ing. Václav Kupec, PhD. entitled Data & Risk Management for Doctoral Students: A Quick Start to Open Science, which will take place on October 31, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. via MS Teams.

The aim of the meeting is to share how to work effectively with research data and risk management in the context of open science, which brings new elements of transparency, collaboration, and trustworthiness to the academic environment. Together, we will focus on how to handle data responsibly, plan its management, and take into account the ethical and security aspects of scientific work. The lecture will also include a discussion on how these principles can be applied in the preparation of scientific articles, project applications, and dissertation research. The meeting will offer a clear introduction to open science for doctoral students from various fields.

Doc. PhDr. Ing. Václav Kupec, PhD. studied economics and management, international studies, marketing communication, and pedagogy. During his more than twenty-five years of practice, he has been intensively involved in process auditing in the corporate sphere (e.g., Česká sporiteľňa) and in the public sector (e.g., the Supreme Audit Office). In addition to his auditing activities, he also focuses on academic activities, collaborates on international projects, publishes regularly, and speaks at conferences.
