We invite you to a lecture by Prof. Mgr. Ildikó Matušíková, PhD. entitled "Introduction to seminars for doctoral students – scientific integrity and ethics," which will take place on October 17, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. via MS Teams.
A new cycle of seminars entitled "I Want to Know More" is beginning, which is part of the UCM Doctoral Academy. The introductory lecture will be given by Vice-Rector Prof. Ildikó Matušíková, PhD., and will cover topics that concern every young scientist: What does honest research look like? What does open science entail? What does open science involve? And why is ethics important even in the age of artificial intelligence?
You will learn about the universal rules of scientific integrity and how they differ in the natural, technical, and social sciences. You will find out why peer review is more than just a "mandatory exercise" and how feedback can be used for your own growth. The lecture will also provide practical tips on how to handle data, protect research participants, and avoid plagiarism.
What's more, you will gain an overview of the opportunities offered by the UCM Doctoral Academy, so that during your doctorate you not only write, but also grow as a person with widely applicable knowledge, skills, and values.
