
Professor Lenovský receives the prestigious Ondrej Štefanek Award for the Development of Slovak Literature
The award is given annually by the World Association of Slovaks Living Abroad in cooperation with the Ivan Kraska Cultural and Scientific Society in Nadlak for a significant contribution to the development and promotion of Slovak literature produced in the Slovak world abroad.
The prize bears the name of Ondrej Štefunk, an important cultural figure, writer and organiser of compatriot life, who has left an indelible mark on the history and contemporary activities of compatriot communities around the world.
The award ceremony took place on 20 March 2025 at the headquarters of the Democratic Union of Slovaks in Romania. Present were representatives of regional, national, state, scientific, research, educational and self-government institutions.
The award is one of the most significant awards in the compatriot world for those who have been engaged in long-term, continuous and systematic scientific, artistic or organizational work on compatriot issues.
Laudatio for this year's laureate was delivered by aesthetician and theatreologist doc. PhDr. Michal Babiak, PhD.
