
Professor Roman Boča is a leading figure in Slovak chemistry

We are proud to inform that our professor from the University of St. Cyril and Methodius in Trnava, prof. Ing. Roman Boča, DrSc., an extremely renowned chemist and scientist, has achieved another significant success. According to the latest evaluation of the portal Research.com has been named one of the world's top chemistry scientists for 2025:
1st place in Slovakia
11 543rd place in the world
He was also awarded the title of Chemistry Leader Award 2025, awarded to scientists and scholars with an outstanding career and impact on the development of the field. The evaluation is based on the so-called D-index (Discipline H-index), which takes into account the number and quality of publications and citations exclusively in the field of chemistry. Only scientists with a D-index of at least 40 are included in the ranking, which underlines the difficulty and prestige of this award.
Prof. Boca on Univerzite sv. Cyrila a Metoda v Trnave has been working for 22 years - as a professor at the Faculty of Natural Sciences of UCM and currently as a researcher at the Faculty of Health Sciences of UCM. In 2018-2022 he held the position of Rector of UCM, previously he served as Dean of the Faculty of Natural Sciences of UCM.
He is the author of 20 technical books and approximately 400 original scientific papers, which have been cited more than 10,000 times. His citation H-index = 51 is among the highest among Slovak scientists working in Slovakia, which testifies to the long-term impact of his research on the international scientific community.
Prof. Boca is still extremely active scientifically - only in the last year he published 2 books and 10 scientific articles. He has founded two internationally renowned scientific schools and supervised 25 PhD students, several of whom now hold important academic positions (2 university professors, 4 associate professors).
