The Faculty of Arts has a new dean. Mariana Sirota will have a four-year term
The appointment decree was ceremonially handed over to her on 26 February 2026 by the Rector Katarína Slobodová Nováková. She will take up her post on 1 March 2026.
Doc. Mgr. Mariana Sirota, PhD., was elected as a candidate for Dean by the Academic Senate of the Faculty of Arts of the UCM on 27 January 2026. The ceremonial act of appointment took place in the presence of the university management and the staff of the faculty.
In her speech, the Rector praised her previous work in the leadership of the faculty and wished her a lot of energy and good decisions in the coming period. "I wish you every success in the responsible work ahead of you," was said during the ceremony.
The new dean will head the faculty until 2030. Her task will be to build on the faculty's development to date and further strengthen its position in education, research and international cooperation.
