Ecosystem sciences and environmental change

The professionally oriented Bachelor's programme at the Faculty of Natural Sciences is for all students and working professionals who want to link environmental knowledge with practice. The study does not only focus on theory, but also includes practical teaching and field exercises, laboratory work, project-based learning and professional and teaching internships.

Students will also learn to design, implement and evaluate environmental education activities and communicate sustainability topics to different target groups, as well as link environmental processes with pedagogy, ethics and communication strategies.

Internships in schools, environmental organisations, the NGO sector or public institutions form an important part of the studies. The external form in English is ideal for working people who want to upgrade their qualifications without interrupting their careers.

Graduates can work as environmental educators, education methodologists, environmental communication professionals, staff of public institutions or non-profit organizations. The study programme opens in the academic year 2026/2027.

Public Relations

This bachelor's programme is offered by the Faculty of Mass Media Communication. Studying in English develops key skills such as assertive and professional communication, creative storytelling, project management, developing media strategies and effective (self-)presentation.

In this way, the programme reflects current trends and market needs. Graduates can find employment as PR specialists, social media managers, corporate communication staff or media strategists.

From the academic year 2026/2027, the programme replaces the original "Media Relations" study programme and brings modernised content adapted to current practice.

European Studies and Politics

The Bachelor's programme at the Faculty of Social Sciences offers a modern interdisciplinary education focusing on national and European politics, public policies and the functioning of public administration.

Students will gain a solid foundation in political science, European studies, international relations and public policy. Emphasis is placed on analytical and critical thinking and the practical application of knowledge. The programme looks in detail at the functioning of the European Union, the processes of policy-making and evaluation, and decision-making in multi-level governance.

Students can engage in internships, workshops and projects in cooperation with public institutions, international organisations and the non-governmental sector.

Graduates of can find employment in spheres such as public administration, European and international institutions, think tanks, the media, the third sector and the private sphere. The programme also provides a good basis for continuing on to a second degree. The study programme is currently under development and will open in the academic year 2027/2028.

English and German in Business Communication

The professionally oriented Bachelor's programme prepares students to operate in an international business environment. It focuses on the development of linguistic, communicative and intercultural competences in English and German.

Students acquire professional terminology in business, management and administration, professional written and oral communication, basic economics and management, and intercultural communication skills.

The programme is prepared by the Department of German Studies and the Department of English and American Studies of the Faculty of Arts in cooperation with the UCM Institute of Management. It will be accredited in both Slovak and English.

Project Management

Modern organizations function through projects and this bachelor's programme prepares students to plan, coordinate and successfully implement projects. The study is professionally oriented and links theory with practice. Students gain a foundation in economics, management, finance and business.

Emphasis is placed on the entire project cycle, from defining objectives, planning time and resources, managing risks and budgets to evaluating results. Digital tools and internationally recognized project management approaches are also included.

The study includes successive semester projects that allow the application of knowledge to real situations. Graduate employment: junior and coordinating positions in companies, public administration or the non-profit sector, participation in development, investment and innovation activities.
