The Department of International Relations is primarily responsible for the following tasks:
- drafts international agreements with foreign partners at the university level, ensures and monitors their implementation;
- maintains records of the university’s international relations and compiles reports on them for university administration;
- in cooperation with departments and faculties, facilitates student and faculty exchanges under international and university agreements;
- in cooperation with the Rector’s Office, records the university’s membership in various international organizations and ensures that these memberships are maintained;
- handles the Rector’s Office’s international correspondence regarding cooperation with partner universities and other partner institutions abroad;
- in cooperation with departments, faculties, and the Rector’s Office (as needed), arranges for the reception of official guests at the university;
- arranges for university leadership and staff members to travel abroad;
- cooperates with the UCM Student Residence to arrange accommodations for incoming staff, students, and guests;
- cooperates with the Department of International Relations of the Ministry of Education, Science, Research and Sport of the Slovak Republic and the relevant units of the university’s faculties;
- in cooperation with departments and faculties, actively seeks opportunities to expand the university’s contacts both domestically and abroad;
- facilitates mobility programs for UCM students, faculty, and staff;
- cooperates with the Rector’s Office on activities related to observing diplomatic protocol at UCM and on hosting high-ranking officials from the Slovak Republic and foreign countries at UCM;
- initiates, implements, or cooperates with the Rector’s Office in organizing negotiations on international cooperation;
- performs other related tasks and activities.
