First Year at UCM

Yes, they can. However, they must obtain authorization to receive mail on your behalf, as the admission decision is sent directly to the applicant. With this authorization, they can then request accommodation on your behalf. During the summer, the accommodation committee meets to allocate housing based on factors such as the number of applicants, proximity to Trnava, and other considerations. Detailed information will be included in the instructions sent along with the admission decree to the relevant UCM faculty.

you do not receive a place in the dormitory, you can try contacting other student dormitories in Trnava to see if they have any available capacity. Alternatively, you can wait until after the first week of classes, when it becomes clear whether all allocated students have moved in. If some places remain vacant, you might have a chance. It’s also a good idea to inquire in person.

In the meantime, search online—Google knows everything. Check out websites such as bedrooms.sk, roommates.sk, spinkaj.sk, and various Facebook groups for alternative accommodation options.

Renewal and issuance of new IDs will take place from September 2, 2024, on weekdays from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM at UCM, Nám. J. Herdu 2, throughout September.

Students who receive new IDs should attach them to the university or public terminal.

Your university email is in the format: surname#@ucm.sk (e.g., kovac8@ucm.sk).

Login Details:

• Username: IDO@ucm.sk (e.g., 2795776@ucm.sk)

• Password: Your personal identification number without the slash. We recommend changing it.

The email can be accessed through the webmail interface here or you can install the Outlook app – there is also a mobile app available.

We recommend registering your authentification mobil number, which will be needed for self-service password resets.

Each academic year and study program has its own email address. Anything sent to the yearly email address will be forwarded to each properly enrolled student in that year at their university email.

First-year yearly email addresses are in the format: 1shortprogramcode-BcD21@ucm.sk.

If you save this yearly email address to your contacts, you won’t have to remember it. The format is straightforward: 1shortprogramcode = first-year students in that program; BcD = full-time bachelor's students; 21 = the code from AIS that will accompany you throughout your studies.

The yearly email address changes during your studies based on your current year and level of study. For example, full-time students in KOMU will have the following yearly email addresses during their studies:

• 1KOMU-BcD21@ucm.sk – in the 1st year of the Bachelor's program.

• After completing the year, the email changes to: 2KOMU-BcD21@ucm.sk – in the 2nd year of the Bachelor's program.

• After completing the year, the email changes to: 3KOMU-BcD21@ucm.sk – in the 3rd year of the Bachelor's program.

• After completing the Bachelor's program, the email changes to: 1KOMU-MgD21@ucm.sk – in the 1st year of the Master's program.

• After completing the year, the email changes to: 2KOMU-MgD21@ucm.sk – in the 2nd year of the Master's program.

Your login credentials are the same as for your UCM email:

• Username: Personal student number (IDO)

• Password: Your birth date without dashes

After your first login to AiS2, it's advisable to change your password in User Management -> Change Password, where you can also check the password's validity. It is recommended that students monitor the expiration date and change the password before the expiration date.

For easier navigation in the new system, clear manuals have been prepared.

Your login details for all MS applications, including the MS portal, are the same as your UCM email:

• Username: IDO@ucm.sk (details about IDO can be found under Communication > University Email)

• Password: Your personal identification number without dashes, or the password you have set.

The Office 365 installation file is available at https://portal.office.com.

OneDrive storage works similarly to Google Drive – it stores files on a server, outside of your computer.

• Capacity: 5 TB per user.

• Maximum file size: 15 GB.

Successful applicants – future 1st-year Bachelor’s students – will gain access to MS 365 during the summer, starting from the first day of the academic year (September 1, 202x).

Bachelor’s/Master’s students lose their student license (and thus access) when the registrar records their grades in the AIS.

When a student loses their student license, they become a member of the ALUMNI group. ALUMNI members only have access to SharePoint and email until they are properly enrolled in the new academic year. Note: Enrollment is only valid from September 1, 202x!

For Bachelor’s graduates:

Membership in the ALUMNI group ends the working day after enrollment in the 1st year of the Master’s program, at which point membership in the STUDENT group is restored, and they regain access to the student Office license and other services.

When the STUDENT license is renewed, the student regains access to all data in the same state as before losing access after their state exams.

In other words: after losing the Bachelor’s student license, data is not deleted but temporarily inaccessible. A student in their final Master’s year should back up all data from OneDrive, Teams, and other applications before their state exams, as they will not have access afterward. Emails can be backed up later.
