UCM joined the Erasmus+ TCA on improving research practices
Published: on 16.10.2025
On September 24–26, 2025, Marta Kuhnová, project manager at St. Cyril and Methodius University in Trnava, participated in a Transnational Cooperation Activity (TCA) entitled Improving Response Rates in Erasmus+ Research in an Appealing Way, which took place in Leiden (Netherlands). The aim of the TCA was to develop a methodology for improving the response rate to calls for proposals in the Erasmus+ program.
The event was organized by the Dutch National Agency Erasmus+ Education and Training and focused on improving the quality of the Erasmus+ program through innovation in research, methodology, and approach to research participants.
The aim of the conference was to respond to growing "questionnaire fatigue" and to seek new, attractive, and scientifically sound ways to increase response rates in Erasmus+ program-related research. Participants discussed ways to improve quantitative and qualitative data collection, engage hard-to-reach target groups, and alternative methodological approaches that better capture the impact of EU programs on education and society.
During the TCA, several interesting professional and practical workshops were held, such as:
- Improving response rate in an appealing way
- Strategies for engaging hard-to-reach participants
- The card sorting method as an attractive engaging instrument for interviewing vulnerable learners
- Recommendations on stakeholder participation for measuring motion, progress, and impact
The participation of St. Cyril and Methodius University in this activity contributed to the expansion of knowledge in the field of research methodology, project impact assessment, and cooperation with stakeholders within the Erasmus+ program.
