UCM Language & Culture Café – Christmas Edition brought Christmas traditions from around the world
In addition to Slovak customs, participants also learned more about how Christmas is celebrated in Wales and Malaysia.
All participants had the opportunity to compare cultural differences through English conversation. The event was once again hosted by lecturer Michael Valek, who naturally engaged participants in discussions and encouraged them to communicate actively without fear of making language mistakes. The meeting also included a small tasting of traditional Christmas delicacies, which added to the festive and informal atmosphere.
The last meeting of 2025 took place on December 10. UCM Language & Culture Café has long been one of the activities of the UCM International Relations Department, which aims to promote language learning, intercultural dialogue, and mutual understanding among employees across the university.
