This means that we produce the best-prepared people for practice in Slovakia.
In survey Employers evaluated graduates of second-cycle full-time university programs who had been in permanent employment for at least six months between August 2023 and August 2024.
"UCM is delighted with this success, as it reflects our efforts to link research with the practical skills of our students," says UCM Rector Katarína Slobodová Nováková.
Employers responded to 37 questions divided into five areas according to the types of skills possessed by graduates, specifically basic, adaptive, cooperative, professional, and organizational skills. Our graduates clearly dominated the competition in almost all areas.

"The survey is important to us, and we want to encourage employers to make even greater use of this opportunity for feedback in the future. Their real-life experiences with recent graduates provide us with the data we need to effectively improve the higher education system. At the same time, feedback from employers is also important for universities," said Minister Tomáš Drucker, whose ministry conducted the survey in cooperation with the Slovak Centre for Scientific and Technical Information.
We are also successful in science
The fact that this is not just a one-off success is also evidenced by the university's position in other rankings. UCM also has achievements in science and research. In 2022, it ranked 13th in a periodic evaluation of research, development, artistic and other creative activities from 2014 to 2019 in 14 scientific fields. This showed that the University of St. Cyril and Methodius in Trnava carries out top-level research in Slovakia, particularly in the fields of mass media and communication sciences, philology, historical sciences, philosophy and theology, and environmental and ecological sciences. A significant proportion of its world-class and internationally renowned outputs are also reflected in the education it provides, offering applicants a good starting point for the job market, including abroad.
In the UNIrank 2022 ranking, UCM was ranked 13th overall, moving up the ranks of Slovak universities compared to 2019 (17th place). In the Scimago ranking, UCM was ranked 10th in Slovakia. The evaluation was carried out by independent foreign experts, and the results are therefore expected to help objectively compare the position of individual institutions in Slovakia in specific areas of science.
UCM also ranks second in the Nature Index, where it ranks 1,642nd out of 4,893 academic institutions worldwide. Within Slovakia, it ranks third among all institutions, including the Slovak Academy of Sciences. The Nature Index is an open database of author affiliations and institutional relationships. The index tracks contributions to research articles published in high-quality natural science and health journals, which are selected by an independent group of researchers based on their reputation.
