  • Biotechnology / full-time

The application deadline is April 30, 2026. You can find all the necessary information about the study and admission procedure HERE.

Applied Biology

Immerse yourself in the fascinating world of microorganisms, genetics, and applied biology. Here you will learn to work with the most modern laboratory technologies, for example for researching genetically modified microorganisms. You will also get the opportunity to explore microbiology, virology, molecular biology, bioinformatics and genomics.

You will gain knowledge about life at all levels – from microscopic cells to evolutionary processes. After completing your studies, career opportunities await you in biomedical research, laboratories and innovative technology companies. If you want to study biology that has real application, join us.

Applied Informatics

Students will acquire theoretical, but above all practical skills in informatics, such as computer architecture, operating systems, algorithmization, programming, information security, computer networks, and will be able to use them in the implementation of systems based on computers.

We provide education not only within the framework of the schedule and subjects, but students can also participate in the educational activities of the world giant CISCO ACADEMY free of charge. Thanks to it, they will learn network technologies, routing protocols and much more. In addition, students are also able to study at the Oracle Academy.

This study program provides students with fully equipped computer classrooms. There is no shortage of new technologies in the form of virtual reality, VR walk motion platform, testing room and much more.

Biotechnology

Biotechnology is a field that is currently experiencing a boom. Together with the scientific capacities from this field that you will meet at lectures, you can be part of several research projects focused on agricultural, industrial, enzyme or pharmaceutical biotechnology.

If you are not indifferent to the fate of our planet, you can focus on the development of biodegradable plastics and research on enzymes that can break down pollutants in our environment. Or you can focus on the production of desired metabolites in plants. There is a lot going on in the field of biotechnology at the Faculty of Life Sciences of the University of Cracow in Trnava, if you want to experience it, just send an application.

Ecosystem Sciences and Environmental Changes

This study program offers a unique opportunity to understand the functioning of natural ecosystems and the changes that affect our planet today. This is a joint study program of the Faculty of Natural Sciences of the University of Trnava in Trnava and the University of Trnava, which connects knowledge from ecology, environmental sciences and pedagogy.

During your studies, you will learn to explore nature directly in the field and in the laboratory. You will not miss anything from monitoring ecosystems and analyzing environmental data to using modern tools such as GIS or remote sensing. You will gain a broader overview of current environmental problems, renewable energy sources and opportunities to contribute to nature protection and sustainable development.

We offer the study program in two forms, namely in the full-time form in Slovak and in the external form in English, which allows studies to be conducted by a wider international audience.

You will also learn to communicate environmental topics and prepare educational activities focused on sustainability and nature protection. If you want to better understand the world around us and actively participate in solving today's environmental challenges, this study program will open the door to a meaningful career in science, environmental practice, and education.

Chemistry and Applied Chemistry

Do you enjoy chemistry and want to work with the latest technologies? In the study programs Chemistry and Applied Chemistry, you will get access to top laboratories where you can experiment and work with the latest equipment, such as nuclear magnetic resonance, which can reveal the chemical structure of substances in a flash.

You can specialize in various areas of chemistry or biomedical chemistry and learn to work with analytical techniques that have real applications in practice. In addition to other professional laboratories, students have the opportunity to complete a paid summer internship at the Institute of Polymers of the Slovak Academy of Sciences.

If you are interested in immediate employment in the field, the study program Applied Analytical Chemistry gives you the opportunity to gain valuable experience while still in school. Professional practice at cooperating workplaces will open the door to interesting career opportunities.

Environmental Protection and Restoration

Do you want to participate in protecting the planet and work with the latest technologies? In the Environmental Protection and Restoration study program, you will gain not only theoretical knowledge, but also real-world experience with today's environmental challenges.

The goal is to support students' creative thinking, independent work, and an innovative approach in using the knowledge gained in environmental sciences, environmental protection, and in creating new technologies that will not harm the environment as much.

If you choose this study program, you can try working with cutting-edge equipment in this field. At the same time, we are the only university in Slovakia to have a positron emission tomograph, which students can also use in their experimental activities.

Students can also collaborate with institutions and practitioners, such as the Nuclear Decommissioning Company Bratislava, BIONT, the Nuclear Energy Research Institute Trnava, and the Plant Production Research Institute NPPC Piešťany. They can also participate in various projects such as Let's Save Wetlands Together and complete field research and monitoring directly in nature.
