Published: 24.12.2025

Dear colleagues, students,
and members of the academic community of St. Cyril and Methodius University in Trnava,

The Christmas season and the approaching end of the calendar year naturally lead us to reflect. It is a time for taking stock, for gratitude, but also for expectations and hopes. Allow me to take this opportunity to sincerely thank you for your work, dedication, professionalism, and the energy you put into the development of our university every day.

Together, we have carried out a number of activities that have strengthened our position in the fields of education, science, research, and artistic creation, not only in the domestic academic arena, but also in an international context. We have continued to modernize our infrastructure, investing in the renovation and development of our facilities, security, technical equipment, and digital tools that improve conditions for creative work. I particularly appreciate your commitment to acquiring projects, participating in domestic and international calls, and building collaborations that transcend borders.

I greatly appreciate your commitment to acquiring projects, participating in domestic and international calls for proposals, and building collaborations that extend beyond the boundaries of our university. These activities are proof that UCM is a vibrant, dynamic, and ambitious institution that has much to offer not only to the academic community but also to society as a whole.

At the same time, I realize that this progress often occurs in conditions of growing demands, changes, and uncertainties. New challenges in the areas of financing, legislation, quality assessment, internationalization, and adaptation to the rapidly changing environment of higher education place high demands on each of us. This makes me appreciate your flexibility, resilience, and willingness to seek solutions even more, even in situations that are not easy.

We are entering the new year with a clear vision for the further development of the university. Our ambition is to continue investing in people, in the quality of education and research, in supporting young talent, but also in creating a working environment based on mutual respect, cooperation, and trust. I believe that joint efforts and open dialogue will be the basis for success in achieving these goals.

Finally, I would like to wish you a peaceful and joyful Christmas, filled with rest, closeness, and new energy. For the new year, I wish you good health, personal satisfaction, professional success, and joy from meaningful work.

Thank you for being part of the University of St. Cyril and Methodius in Trnava. I look forward to our continued journey together.
