The University of St. Cyril and Methodius in Trnava enters the new academic year

The event is hosted by the Chairman of the Academic Senate of UCM, Doc. PhDr. Ján Višňovský, PhD., and the Rector of the University, Prof. Mgr. Katarína Slobodová Nováková, PhD. The ceremonial opening is one of the most important events in university life each year and marks not only the official start of the new academic year, but also an opportunity to evaluate previous activities and recognize achievements.

What can you look forward to?

The event will begin with a report on the activities of the UCM Academic Senate, followed by a speech by the university rector. Traditional parts of the ceremony include speeches by invited guests and the presentation of awards, through which the university recognizes the extraordinary achievements of its teachers, students, and collaborators. The ceremony will conclude with a social gathering for all those present.

The ceremonial opening of the academic year symbolically brings together the academic community – teachers, students, employees, and friends of the university. The event is also an opportunity to recall the values on which the university is based and to set new goals and visions for the coming period.
