FZV students will study in the renovated building as early as the next academic year. This was shown by an inspection day at the construction site

“The construction work is progressing well and without serious complications. The schedule has a delay of approximately one month, which does not jeopardize the main goal of the project, which is to make the new premises available to students in the next academic year,” said UCM Rector Katarína Slobodová Nováková.

The reconstruction of the former secondary school in Piešťany, which officially began in April 2025, includes extensive interior renovations, modernization of the technical infrastructure, new energy distribution, as well as preparation of premises for modern classrooms, laboratories and a simulation learning center. The building with an area of ​​approximately 2,000 m² will thus gain a completely new functional use that will meet the current demands of higher education in the field of health sciences.

Working with a historical building requires special attention, as technical details resulting from its age and the absence of complete original project documentation are being continuously resolved. However, expert teams are handling these challenges promptly and in accordance with applicable standards.

The reconstruction of the former secondary school in Piešťany represents a significant step in the development of university infrastructure, bringing new life to the historic building and creating a modern environment for future healthcare professionals. The project is financed from the Recovery and Resilience Plan of the Slovak Republic and UCM's own resources.
